Recently, people have started to talk more and more about green coffee beans and how they can help those trying to lose weight.
What is it?

Green coffee beans are coffee beans that have not been roasted. Roasting green coffee beans not only changes their color, but it also removes a compound called chlorogenic acid. It’s chlorogenic acid that is what affects how the body handles blood sugar and metabolism.

Quick Weight Loss

You will experience quite a lot of fast weight loss quicker than what most people are used to. Weight loss is achievable from all kinds of supplements, but many people have found that simply using coffee bean extract can change the way the body works and how it gets rid of all the excess fat in the body. If you want to lose a lot of weight, then you really need to know the right techniques to succeed. Your metabolism is also achievable in the long run by taking coffee bean extract constantly.

Immense Energy

A lot of people have found that immense additional energy can really be achieved. Immense energy is something that a lot of people need to start working out. Sometimes if you want to do more activities, you will need a lot of additional energy that will help enhance your strength for finishing up your entire workout or activity.

Feel Better

Your body will feel lighter, stronger, and tremendously able to succeed with your workouts and activities. There are plenty of people who have lost in excess of 20 pounds in less than a couple of weeks!

The Bottom Line

Biosanes is here to help YOU achieve your goals. Our natural, high fiber supplements (Natural Magic), all natural appetite suppressants (Optinol), protein drinks for weight loss (Lose-it) are all amazing products that WILL help you achieve your weight loss goals. By using these products along with green coffee beans, you are sure to see some fantastic results.

Did you know that eating healthy fats can actually help you to lose weight?

Did you know that eating healthy fats can actually help you to lose weight? You have probably heard about “good fats” before and are probably wondering what they are, and how to tell the difference between good and bad fats. What are the good fats that help you lose fat (as in chubbiness) and the fat that is simply stored in the body? First of all, stop getting your information from the supermarket! Many products that claim to have low or no fat are painting an inaccurate picture of how the system really works. There are different types of fats, and some fats are vital to body and brain function. Doing without fats is not an option.

Types of Fats

Ideally, you want to eat good fats and burn them. Bad fat is stored and eventually causes weight gain and unsightly bodily flaws. Let’s start by considering the major types of fats. Monounsaturated fats come from mainly plaint oils and are healthy when used in moderation; food items like canola oil, peanut oil, and olive oil. Some fruits like avocados and certain types of nuts and seeds contain monounsaturated fats.

Polyunsaturated fats include Omega-3 fatty acids, and are found in food items like sunflower, flaxseed oils, corn, soybean, walnuts, flax seeds and fish. These are anti-inflammatory fats. Saturated fats typically come from meat and dairy products, as well as a few vegetable oils like coconut oil and palm oil. Your intake of saturated fat should be limited, as there is no healthy purpose in eating these fats; in fact, the body creates as much saturated fat as you need just by digesting good fats.

Trans-fat foods are the worst types of fats to eat, as these are created by heating vegetable oils with hydrogen gas. This process preserves natural vegetable oils but increases cholesterol, which is the primary case of so many health problems.

Omega 3 fats are the best types of fats to consume, since they balance out Omega 6 fats and other unhealthy fats. In fact, an improper balance of good and bad fats is why many people experience health problems.

The Role of Leptin

Not only do these good fats restore balance but they can also help your body respond positively to the hormone Leptin. Leptin is the key to weight loss (or bodybuilding) success. Leptin sends signals to your body and brain that suppress your appetite and increase your metabolism. Thanks to this process you also increase your thyroid output; and the thyroid is directly involved in regulating metabolism.

Most importantly, Leptin causes your body to burn fat for energy. This is precisely what you need to do to get rid of fat–burn it! By taking in too many bad fats, you are inhibiting the function of Leptin. When Leptin isn’t doing its job you feel hungry. You store fat rather than burn it.

Did you know that some studies have been performed suggesting that even people who do not exercise can still lose weight simply by increasing Omega 3 fats and decreasing bad fats?

Fat-Burning Foods Make Things Easy on You

You can see why eating healthy fats helps you lose “fat” in the sense of excessive amounts of stored fat. You have more “pure fat” to burn and thus can take off the pounds. In fact, you don’t even have to work as hard when you do exercise, because you are no longer trying to shake off stored fat. You are burning fat in a healthy way and gaining muscle with every workout you do.

Burning stored fat is indeed a difficult task, so it’s little wonder why overweight people tire so easily when they try to burn off calories without also changing their diet. It actually takes less energy to burn off protein and good fats than stored fat.

What are some popular fat burning foods that can help you get rid of that belly? Look for products like eggs, low-fat (or non-fat) dairy products, beans, oatmeal, olive oil, whole grains, and lean cuts of mean.

So what can we take away from this? Eat good fats and burn them quickly. Avoid bad fats so that you don’t even have to struggle getting rid of them! Then boost your diet with Biosanes’ products, like our protein drinks for weight loss, and our all-natural, soluble, high-fiber supplements. These products will help you achieve your goals more quickly, and they are so safe that you can even use them as a baby constipation cure!

Turns out that super market sushi and fast food have more in common than you'd think. In fact, just a couple of California rolls have as many calories and twice as much sugar as a Big Mac and French fries from McDonald’s.

How many times have you ordered sushi as a healthy meal replacement? Why not? Healthy fish with vegetables and rice? Who couldn’t get behind that? Well, you may want to think again.

Turns out that super market sushi and fast food have more in common than you’d think. In fact, just a couple of California rolls have as many calories and twice as much sugar as a Big Mac and French fries from McDonald’s. Shocking, no? But where are all of those calories coming from? From all that deliciously seasoned white rice wrapped around the minuscule pieces of fish and vegetables. According to dietitian Rachel Beller, “a typical sushi roll contains 290 to 350 calories and has the carbohydrate equivalent of two-and-a-half to four slices of bread…so a California roll equals two sandwiches filled with crab sticks, a sliver of avocado, and a tiny bit of vegetables.”

“Sushi” actually refers to the rice served with the (usually) raw fish, not the fish itself, which is considered more of a garnish. The rice is seasoned with sugar-and-salt infused vinegar and can make up 75 percent of each bite you take. So, although you may be eating heart-healthy fish and vegetables, you’re only receiving trace amounts of nutrients. What about brown rice? While it may have more fiber and nutrients it still contains the same amount of carbs and sugar.

Two servings of Genji Sushi California rolls — one of the easiest to find take-out options at Whole Foods markets around the United States — has 740 calories and 22 grams of sugar, according to nutritional data posted online. A McDonald’s Big Mac and a small order of French fries total 780 calories and 9 grams of sugar, the fast-food chain reports on their website.

You may be thinking, “well, I’ll just go with veggie sushi instead”. Don’t be so hasty. An eight piece serving of Genji Sushi’s avocado-and-cucumber roll has 400 calories and 11 grams of sugar — more than a McDonald’s Premium Bacon Ranch Salad with Crispy Chicken on top (390 calories, 7 grams of sugar).

Add a little soy sauce to the sushi and you can really do some damage to your sodium levels. Two take-out packets of soy sauce add about 1,000 milligrams of sodium!

However, when it comes to fat content, sushi is easily the better fast-food choice. Two servings of Genji Sushi California Rolls contain just 10 grams of fat, compared to 29 grams of fat in a Big Mac alone. Even oily fish like salmon and tuna contain far less fat than a serving of ground beef.

So, now that we have the bad news out of the way, what is there for a sushi enthusiast to do? Stick to rolls that don’t include cream cheese or mayonnaise-based sauces, which can add a lot of fat. Sushi that contains tempura may be delicious, but the fried ingredients add extra calories. If you’re indulging at a restaurant, sashimi — strips of fish with the rice on the side — will help you cut down on carbs. If you want to lower your sodium levels, avoid smoked fish like mackerel and salmon, and go easy on the soy sauce and pickled ginger. For those of you that are “do-it-yourselfers,” you can satisfy your sushi craving by learning to make them from home — that way you control what goes into each roll. And if you are looking for a way to get to most out of your sushi, consider adding high fiber supplements. You can include Biosanes’ natural fiber supplements, Natural Magic. It offers 100% soluble fiber that you won’t regret adding to any meal.

When you load up on lean protein sources, researchers have found that you get full faster on less food.

Pay attention carb-lovers! The difference between losing and gaining weight is admitting that there is life after pasta *gasp*. Some of us don’t understand the importance of protein-rich diet. Protein is responsible for giving your metabolism the boost it needs, rather than either carbs or fats. Consuming proteins like fish, chicken, eggs, milk, cheese and tofu enables the body to maintain and build muscle mass — and the more muscle you have, the faster and more efficient your metabolism functions. Added bonus!

To really reap the benefits you should add some sort of lean protein to every snack and meal. When you load up on lean protein sources, researchers have found that you get full faster on less food. And when you couple a lean protein source and a high-fiber food, then you get a snack that keeps appetite at bay for a long time.

Fiber is bulky and fills the stomach, while protein goes to work on sending messages to your brain that signal to “stop eating”. Which means you’re in luck! Biosanes’ products offer high-fiber diet weight loss guarantee! Our Natural Magic is an amazing soluble fiber. Not only that, they are the best, natural fiber supplements out there! And our Lose-it protein drinks for weight loss offer the protein your body needs and vitamins that boost metabolism.

Incidentally, protein is great brain fuel – neurons are made of fat but communicate using proteins. Hormones and enzymes all over the body are made of and powered by proteins.

On the other hand, simple carbohydrates – while a good source to feed your brain — can leave you feeling tired and sluggish. Beans seem to be the perfect food when you’re trying to combine the two: they’re high in protein and fiber, plus they make an economical choice. Try low-fat dairy products, and limit your red meat choices to one to two servings per week.

Asparagus

~ Vitamin E, Potassium, Folic Acid ~

Asparagus spears, already known for their–suggestive shape, are high in vitamin E, a nutrient so vital for sexual health that it is often dubbed “the sex vitamin.” It also contains potassium and folic acid, a B vitamin that helps increase the production of histamine, which is important for a healthy sex drive in both men and women.

Avocados

~ Vitamin B6, Potassium, Folic Acid ~

Avocados play a role in boosting libido for both sexes, as they are rich in many nutrients, including folic acid, which helps metabolize proteins, thus important for energy and stamina.

Aztecs called the avocado tree “ahuacatl,” or “testicle tree,” because of the fruits’ shapely form. Well, at least they got it right. While avocados can indeed look like that body part, it contains tons of vitamin B6 to increase male hormone production, and potassium to regulate a woman’s thyroid gland. Avocados contain other nutrients important for sexual function, including beta carotene, magnesium, and vitamin E.

Bananas

~ Bromelain, Potassium, Vitamin B (Riboflavin) ~

Bananas are rich in potassium and B vitamins, important for sexual stamina and sex hormone production in both men and women. They also increase sexual desire due to being rich in the enzyme bromelain, which is believed to increase libido and virility in men.

Chilies

~ Capsaicin ~

Make sure your romantic meal is heavy on the hot peppers. Capsaicin, the substance in chiles that provides their heat, increases heart rate, blood flow, and sweat when eaten—mimicking the body’s natural reaction to sexual arousal.

Dark Chocolate or Cocao

~ Theobromine, Phenylethylamine, Anti-oxidants ~

Chocolate’s many benefits are well documented. It contains theobomine, an alkaloid which is very similar to caffeine. More importantly, thanks to phenylamine (also called the “love chemical”), indulgers enjoy feelings of excitement and euphoria. Pure cacao also contains tryptophan, known to promote a sense of well-being and relaxation. It also has more antioxidants than green tea or red wine.

Figs

~ Amino Acids ~

Ancient Greeks associated figs with love and fertility. But the ability of figs to produce passion is likely due to the amounts of fiber it contains. For men, fiber is good for circulation, meaning that eating figs can keep blood flowing to all the right places. They are also high in Amino Acids which are believed to increase libido.

Fish

~ Omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamin B5, B6 and B12 ~

Wild salmon and other cold-water fish (ie. sardines, mackerel, halibut, herring, trout and anchovies) are guaranteed to boost your sensual stamina and overall health as they contain high amounts of Omega-3 fatty acids. These essential fatty acids help the function of your brain and nervous system, fight depression and improve your mood and memory. Fish are great sources of essential Vitamin B5, B6 and B12, all of which are important in keeping good reproductive health.

Garlic

~ Allicin ~

You may not want to eat this one right before a romantic encounter (not after a mint, anyway), but plenty of holistic doctors will tell you that long-term use of garlic helps boost your libido. Garlic contains allicin, a compound that improves sexual performance by increasing blood flow to sexual organs.

Oysters

~ Zinc ~

These little guys have long been suspected as a love drug. Oysters boost dopamine levels in the brain, the “pleasure hormone” thought to lift libido for both sexes. They are rich in zinc which is essential for testosterone production and the maintenance of healthy sperm.

Watermelon

~ Citrulline ~

Bhimu Patil, researcher and director of the Fuit and Vegetable Improvement Center at Texas A&M University, states that eating watermelon delivers Viagra-like effects on blood vessels throughout the body and may increase libido. Watermelon is rich with citrulline amino acid. Citrulline is good for the cardiovascular system and helps improve blood flow to the heart and genitalia, as well as to the rest of the body. Citrulline is highly effective at relaxing blood vessels, resulting in increased blood flow to your sexual organs. In fact, citrulline is actually found in higher concentrations in watermelon rind than in the flesh, but there’s still plenty citrulline in the delicious flesh to make eating it worthwhile.

The quality of the calories your body takes in while you diet are crucial to permanent success. Recently, researchers at Harvard University have confirmed that the quality of your diet — above and beyond just quantity — can help with fat loss.

The study certainly wasn’t the final word — and definitely had limitations — it wasn’t a “cause and effect” study, but rather a correlation study that asked over 120,000 healthy, well educated men and women about their dietary habits every 2 years for a total of between 12 and 20 years.

They then found foods associated with weight loss or weight gain among the subjects.

First, they found that the average participant gained about 0.5 kg (1.1 lb) per year. Who cares, right? It’s JUST 1 lb. The problem … year after year after year … that 1 lb adds up and people never lose it and long term it’s more and more dangerous.

The question, then, is what foods did they find contributed to the weight loss vs. those that contributed to weight gain?

Weight Loss:

Veggies

Fruits

Nuts

Whole grain foods

Weight Gain:

Sugar sweetened drinks

Processed meats

Potatoes

Not saying there aren’t limitations to this study or this type of correlation study, but there were some interesting findings to consider. The important thing to remember is to not focus so heavily on calories and rather look at the quality — limit processed or refined carbohydrates and focus instead on veggies, fruits, and healthier food options … even if they are higher in calories (like nuts). Basically a lot of this boils down to how these foods affect the hormones in our body – namely, insulin, a powerful storage hormone.

Again, it’s not just how much you eat, but WHAT you eat.

This is what makes BIOSANES 30-DAY CHALLENGE so great. It makes it easier for you to get in the habit of making better, healthier choices on what you eat and when.

At the end of the day we want you to focus on overall diet quality … our message remains the same. Lots of veggies and fruits, nuts, healthy fats, lean protein and some whole grains.

Companies will label their products with all sorts of words like "Lite," or "Reduced Fat," "Low Sodium," and so-on. The only problem is these words don't really tell you anything.

Companies will label their products
with all sorts of words like “Lite,” or “Reduced Fat,” “Low Sodium,” and so-on. The only problem is these words don’t really tell you anything. From a nutritionists point of view, all you need is a way to compare products. Lucky for us, the back of the box holds the key–the little box labeled ”Nutrition Facts.” Here are the main things you want to pay attention to.

Serving Size ~ People tend to ignore this and go straight to the calories section — don’t be fooled! Calories are calculated based on the serving size. If you’re planning to eat a 102-calorie chicken breast for dinner, that isn’t an all-you-can-eat smorgasbord, it’s exactly one 3 oz breast – the serving size. If you want more, you’ll have to multiply the calories (and everything else) accordingly.

Calories ~ Calories can be listed as total calories and fat calories. In general, healthy foods will have less than half their calories coming from fat. If most the calories come from fats, you may just want to avoid the food all together.

Fats ~ These are broken down categorically. For trans fat, try to keep them at 0 — any consumer-conscious product has eliminated the use of trans fats by now. Then, move on and compare the saturated fat to the total fat. The lower the saturated fat, the better is the ratio of unsaturated to saturated fats. You need both, but in general, you want a higher proportion of unsaturated fats in your diet.

Cholesterol and sodium ~ The lower they are, the better. High amounts of sodium and cholesterol lead to high blood pressure and heart disease, so just stay away.

Carbohydrates ~ These are then broken down, much like the fats. Look for plenty of fiber — it’s a beneficial part of your diet (keep in mind that you should be adding Natural Magic and/or Optinol to reach your optimum daily fiber intake). Unfortunately, the sugar isn’t categorized, so try to avoid high-sugar foods and drinks. Sugars can include high fructose corn syrup, sucrose, dextrose, maltose, or any other sugar, so you’ll have to check the ingredients list. It may seem like a pain, but it is a habit worth forming, we promise

Protein ~ Foods that are rich in protein act as awesome nutrition for your body, supplying both energy and the amino acids your body requires to function. Foods that have higher protein content than fat are excellent choices.

In all sections, %DV (percent daily values) are given. You can use this to estimate how much of a product you need to meet your dietary requirements for the day by adding together the percents for all the foods you’ll eat in a day. Remember to multiply by the number of servings.

And there you go! With these simple tips its easy to choose healthier foods and to maintain a set caloric intake for the day. Just remember that nutritional facts are a legal requirement and can’t mislead you the way that the fancy “diet,” and “health food” claims can. Take back control and let these tips be your guide to a healthier you.

There are a few things, as red meat eaters, that we need to keep in mind. We consume nearly one and a half times more meat (in America, alone) than most industrialized nations and use more than 50 percent of our water and land to raise livestock. Our over-reliance on animal protein is taking a toll on our health and contributing to a multitude of environmental concerns, including global warming, air and water pollution.

While a full vegetarian diet may seem extreme, here are five reasons to consider going meatless, at least part of the time. Give it a shot and see how you feel!

1) Diets high in meat load us down with saturated fat, increasing our risk for heart disease, diabetes and certain forms of cancer:

According to Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, giving up meat even one day a week can reduce consumption of harmful fat by 15 percent. Further studies also point to a decreased risk of breast cancer in women who eat meat less frequently because saturated fat stimulates certain types of estrogen-receptive tumors.

2) Meats Rack Up Your Grocery Bill:

Animal proteins cost three times the amount of beans or whole grains, and going meatless now and again can make a serious dent in your food budget. Unlike the minimal storage life of meat, canned or dried ingredients used in many vegetarian recipes stay fresh in your pantry for months at a time, making bulk purchasing a further savings for the savvy shopper.

3 )Watch Your Calorie Intake:

Diets higher in complex carbohydrates (whole wheat, cornmeal, oats, potatoes, brown rice and beans) are low in fat and fill us up quickly, translating to lower calorie intake and fewer cravings between meals. Vegetarian meals are also richer in vitamins and minerals, especially when combined with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.

4) Protect Your Immunity:

Limiting quantities of poultry and red meat can help protect our immune systems from harmful byproducts and even contagious disease. Human resistance to certain antibiotics is linked to similar substances used to prevent illness and promote weight gain in animals raised in factory farms, where most commercial meat comes from. Don’t get fooled!

5) Responsible Environmental Stewardship and Use of Resources:

Climate change and global warming are high on our list of worries these days, and many of us wonder how we can make a difference. According to the Environmental Defense Fund, if every American skipped just one serving of meat per week it would be the same as taking 8 million cars off the road! This would reduce overall meat production and supply transport, thus reducing greenhouse gas emissions considerably.

Try going meatless–if not totally, at least some of the time. Who knows, you just might feel better!

Here’s a tip: shake up your menu gradually and experiment a bit. Start with one of your favorite recipes and see how simple it is to replace the meat with a vegetarian alternative. For example, beans make a delicious, protein-rich filling for favorites like spaghetti, tacos, tamales, or burritos. For pizza, try portabella mushrooms instead of pepperoni or sausage. Your opportunities are endless. The secret is: you don’t have to give up too many of the foods you enjoy, just be creative and learn to prepare them in healthier ways.
