Magic Mushroom-Marinara Pasta

This recipe works well with any type of whole grain pasta. Serve this dish with a salad and whole grain rolls to make it an entree.
Ingredients
- 12 ounces whole grain pasta, cooked
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 2 cans (15 ounces each) no salt tomato sauce
- 2-3 tablespoons fat-free chicken broth
- 3 teaspoons Natural Magic
- 2 teaspoons crushed dried basil
- 2 teaspoons crushed dried oregano
- pinch white pepper
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- ⅔ cup chopped onion
- 4 cloves garlic, chopped
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onion (optional)
Instructions
- Take a medium saucepan, cook onion, garlic and mushrooms in broth 5-7 minutes or until softened, over medium hight heat and mix in your Natural Magic.
- Add tomato sauce, honey, oregano, basil and white pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer gently for 20 minutes.
- Add balsamic vinegar and simmer for additional 5 minutes.
- Pour the sauce over cooked pasta and toss thoroughly. Sprinkle green onion over top and serve immediately.
